The Challenge

The previous website did not convey the luxury and attention to detail that define Blackwell House. It lacked an intuitive structure for booking experiences such as afternoon tea and wine tasting, and the overall design did not reflect the guesthouse’s elegant and welcoming character.

We created a bespoke WordPress website featuring refined visuals, updated branding, and seamless booking integrations for accommodation and signature experiences. The new site combines elegance with usability, offering guests an immersive online experience that matches the atmosphere of Blackwell House.

Yes. For Blackwell House, much of the project was carried out through in-person meetings, which helped us understand the property, the people behind the business and the experience they wanted guests to feel before they booked. This approach can be especially valuable for hotels, guesthouses and hospitality businesses where atmosphere, trust and personality matter.

Yes. Many hospitality business owners know their property inside out but are less familiar with website structure, SEO, user experience and what Google looks for. As part of the Blackwell House project, we helped explain how the website should be organised, what content mattered, and how to create a better journey for potential guests.

Yes. A hospitality website needs to do more than list rooms and facilities. For Blackwell House, we provided guidance on how the brand should be presented online, including the importance of showing the people behind the business and creating a website that reflected the warmth, quality and personality of the guest experience.

For Blackwell House, Edele and Alessio are a major part of the brand. Guests are not only booking a place to stay – they are buying into the welcome, care and personal experience created by the owners. Featuring them prominently on the homepage helped make the website feel more authentic, personal and memorable.
Yes. Photography plays a major role in how people judge a hotel, guesthouse or restaurant online. For Blackwell House, we advised on the type of photography that would best support the website, including imagery that showed the property, the guest experience and the people behind the brand.

WordPress can support direct booking functionality, but for Blackwell House we decided not to add this feature. Their bookings were already managed through eviivo and connected to platforms such as Booking.com and Hotels.com.

For the number of rooms and bookings involved, a separate WordPress booking system would have added extra maintenance and complexity. The better approach was to use the website to build trust, present the brand clearly and guide visitors towards the existing booking setup.
